The Blake Museum

The Blake Museum

The Blake Museum celebrates Admiral Robert Blake and the town in which he grew up. The museum is set in Blake House in Bridgwater, which is reputed to be the birthplace of Robert Blake, Cromwell's General at Sea, later Admiral. Blake is said to equal Nelson in his naval exploits and is credited with being the founder of the modern Navy. The museum is not just about Blake, it is Bridgwater's heritage centre and you can view the town's history from Stone Age to Modern Age. If you fancy a more educational trip, this one's for you.
