Disability Access Statement

Our holiday centre has touring and camping pitches, a caravan hire fleet, seasonal touring fields and static owner areas. The park is generally level with tarmac roadways and some limited footpath provision.

Static Caravan Hire

Our hire fleet is located in elevated sand dunes. One of the caravans (Number 4) has ramped and stepped access to a conventional static unit, which has not been adapted for wheelchair use. Hire fleet parking is available near to, but not alongside the ramped unit, with limited dropped kerb provision to assist wheelchair users. The roadway leading to our hire fleet has a gradual incline with no handrail provision.

Touring & Camping

We have three pitch types: Grass, Hardstanding (tarmac) and En-Suite Super Pitches. All pitches are mainly level, with parking available alongside units.

Disabled Pitches: There are a number of disabled hardstanding pitches, reserved to enable blue badge holders to pitch near to the washroom facilities in Fields 5 & 6 (Field 6 is a no pets area). Individual, disabled shower and toilet facilities are located on Fields 2, 4, 5, 6 and Sunnyside Field 10, with ramped access where required. A further toilet facility suitable for wheelchair use is located on the right of our main reception. There are currently no grass disabled pitches at the holiday centre.

There are a number of tarmac footpaths and touring pitches are sited close to the roadways in each field. There is a 10mph speed limit signposted throughout the centre and a number of speed bumps in several locations. There are disabled parking bays next to the facility block in Field 6 and in The Beachcomber car park, while parking for visitors is located near to our other facilities.

Our staff will be happy to offer assistance, although there is no staff provision for pitching individual customer units. Contact numbers are available should you require this chargeable service.

Seasonal Pitches: Fields 1, 2, 3, 4 and 10 are occupied by seasonal touring caravans and remain on site over a twelve month period, their use being limited to the holiday centre opening period from approximately Easter through to the end of October. An increasing number of our seasonal pitches are fully serviced with en-suite ‘pods’. Additionally, others have hardstanding including all-weather awning surfacing. The pitches are generally level, and are accessed via tarmac roadways, with some limited footpath provision.

En-Suite Pitches: We have a few En-Suite Super Pitches located in Field 5. These are fully serviced pitches, however they are not specifically adapted for those with recognised disabilities. Unfortunately the En-Suite Pitches are not ideal for wheelchair users because there is a step up into the pods (they must be raised for drainage), and the door is standard width. The en-suite pods contain a standard toilet and shower (no disabled facilities).

Getting Around

Timetables are kept at Reception for the local bus service and taxi numbers, which include specially adapted MPVs for those who require assistance.

Shops

Our on-site convenience stores offer a range of food and drink. Where access is found to be restricted, staff will happily accommodate in assisting to make your purchases.

Public Buildings

Access to all public buildings on the park is suitable to those with partial mobility and colour schemes generally provide contrast between floor, wall and doorways for the partially sighted.

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome in all public areas, except Field 6 and Field 11 (No Pets side). There are several dog exercise facilities near the accommodation areas.

The Beachcomber

Our clubhouse, The Beachcomber is mostly on one level, with a unisex disabled toilet leading from the front foyer (toilet and baby change, RADAR access only). There is ramped access alongside a two-step drop to the dance area in ‘The Lounge’. Menus are printed and specials are signwritten, and our staff will be happy to assist you in making your food choice. There is a wide range of food offered, which we anticipate will meet most dietary requirements. Where a customer is prone to certain allergens, we encourage that they speak with one of the catering staff to ensure their personal requirements are met prior to placing their order. There are designated disabled parking bays in The Beachcomber car park.

Opening Hours

There is no 24 hour service available on the park. Reception opening times are signed at Main Reception, and Night Security is available out of hours contactable by phone. The night warden’s office is located immediately opposite our main reception building. The Beachcomber and indoor Play Barn opening times are on display at both premises. Other useful information may be found in our 'Warren Farm and Beachcomber Gazette'.

Wheelchair Hire

We have a limited number of wheelchairs for customer use, for which there is no charge. Please check hire availability at Reception. If you require mobility scooter hire, our Reception staff can provide details of local companies that offer this service.

Mobile Signal & Wifi

Most mobile phone networks are accessible from Warren Farm and WiFi is available (this is chargeable around the centre but The Beachcomber has free WiFi access).

Evacuation

Evacuation procedures are prepared, covering all accommodation areas of the park.  You are invited to register your details with Main Reception, should you consider a need for individual assistance where a major evacuation of the site is required.

Doctor & Dentist Information

Contact numbers for visitors and unregistered patients requiring medical attention are available from Reception. For doctor or dental assistance, please call NHS Choices on 111 (in an emergency, dial 999 and inform Reception or the Night Warden). A ‘minor injuries’ department functions in Burnham Memorial Hospital, this is not a 24 hour service. More serious cases requiring treatment are dealt with by either Weston General Hospital or Musgrove Park Hospital (Taunton). Weston General Hospital does not operate an A & E service overnight.

Our Reception staff will be happy to answer any further questions you may have and will be pleased to receive your feedback to help us continually improve the park. If you have any suggestions, please email info@warrenfarm.co.uk or complete our Questionnaire.
